Anwendung

How to apply the summer care lotion.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Apply small amounts of the lotion to the affected areas.

• Massage well into the fur and skin. The lotion absorbs quickly.

• Can be used sparingly.

• No rinsing necessary.

Recommended frequency: Daily when acutely needed. For maintenance, 1 to 3 times
per week. Please store the lotion in a cool, dark place at all times. Once opened,
use up continuously.

Areas of application: Mane crest, dock of the tail, flanks, belly seam, face and muzzle (avoiding mucous membranes). All fur and skin areas.

Note: A white film may form after application. This is excess zinc oxide and can simply be brushed out.

Frequently asked questions about the Summer Care Lotion.

Is this lotion only suitable for horses with sweet itch? No. The lotion was developed for horses with sensitive or highly stressed skin in summer. Sweet itch is the most common use case, but not the only one. It is also suitable for caring for dry, flaky, or irritated skin.

What is behind the bacteria in the lotion? The lotion is based on Lactobacillus Ferment, a ferment derived from lactic acid bacteria. The bacteria themselves are no longer alive in it. We use what is produced during the fermentation process. In skincare, Lactobacillus Ferment is used as a nourishing ingredient.

Which horse breeds is the lotion suitable for? Originally developed for Icelandic horses with sweet itch, it is suitable for all horse breeds with sensitive or allergy-prone skin.

How long does one bottle last?

With 2 to 3 applications per week, the 500 ml bottle typically lasts for several weeks. The 2.5-liter refill pouch is designed for care throughout the entire season.

Can I combine the lotion with other Hestakofi products?

Yes. Our products are coordinated with one another. The Summer Care Lotion with probiotic bacteria is particularly suitable for the mane crest, flanks, belly midline, and tail base. The CBD lotion is a suitable supplement for the face and ears. All lotions are non-greasy and do not soil blankets.

What is the difference between the 2.5-liter refill pouch and the standard bottle?

The contents are identical. The refill pouch is intended for those who use the lotion consistently throughout the entire season and wish to reduce packaging. Simply pour into the original bottle.

Where we ship

We currently only ship within Germany. You can also place an order with us from another country if you provide a delivery address in Germany.

In Austria, you can purchase our products from our partner lawau.at. For other countries, we would be happy to recommend a retailer near you: simply write to us at contact@hestakofi.de.

Shipping costs

Within Germany, we charge a flat rate of €5.00 per order, including statutory VAT. You can see the shipping costs in your cart before you place your order.

When your package arrives

We fill our products by hand in small batches and ship twice a week: on Tuesdays and Fridays. Orders received by the day before will be sent out on the next shipping day. We ship with DHL.

Delivery takes 2 to 5 working days. This period begins the day after the contract is concluded. Working days are Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays at the place of delivery. If the last day of the delivery period falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, it ends on the next working day.

Products that are currently out of stock cannot be ordered in the shop. This means you will only ever receive items that we can ship immediately.

If a package arrives damaged

Should a package arrive visibly damaged, please file a complaint directly with the delivery agent and let us know briefly, preferably with a photo sent to contact@hestakofi.de. This allows us to resolve the damage claim with DHL. Your legal rights remain unaffected even if you do not report the damage immediately. The shipping risk lies with us until the package reaches you.

When black flies start swarming, a strenuous time begins for many horses. The bites itch, the horse rubs against fences and trees, and the skin becomes repeatedly chafed. This is pure stress for both horse and owner.

I developed the Summer Care Lotion specifically for these stressed areas. It applies a nourishing film to the skin. At the heart of the formula is Lactobacillus Ferment, a ferment derived from lactic acid bacteria, which is used in skincare as a nourishing ingredient. It is complemented by calendula, true chamomile, witch hazel, eucalyptus, tea tree oil, and zinc oxide.

The lotion is suitable for the mane, dock of the tail, flanks, belly midline, and face. Please avoid the eye area. Originally developed for Icelandic horses, it is suitable for every breed.

The Summer Care Lotion nourishes the skin with Lactobacillus ferment, a ferment derived from lactic acid bacteria, as well as calendula, chamomile, and zinc oxide. Stressed and moist skin areas are nurtured and feel pleasantly dry and supple.

  • Application:

    Shake the bottle well before use. Then apply a small amount of lotion to the areas to be treated and massage it thoroughly into the skin, coat, and mane. The lotion is quickly absorbed and economical to use. Depending on your needs, you can apply it once a day to once a week.

    Combining

    Our summer lotions complement each other well: The care lotion with CBD oil is particularly suitable for sensitive areas such as the face and ears.

  • The summer care lotion with Lactobacillus Ferment is particularly suitable for the mane crest, flanks, belly line, and tail base.

    Neither lotion is greasy and they do not leave an oily film on the eczema rug.

    A light white film may remain after application. This is excess zinc oxide, which can be easily brushed out with a mane brush.
